Well. Here it begins - A blog. I haven't done one before but I hope this will be the start of many new and enjoyable artistic projects. I'm already pleased that I have managed to assemble a website this week not only for myself but also for the Ulster Society of Women Artists. We are all very artistic but not many of us are especially, if at all (!) computer savvy. It is something I wanted to do as my contribution as President to get an up-to-date website for the society. I hand over the reins to the new President in March, so I had to get on with it. See! - procrastination finally comes to an end if I am accountable to others - lots of others. Sigh.....maybe a blog with help control this procrastination process or compound the issue....we'll see....
My REALLY BIG project, or course, for the first part of this year is painting the remaining works for my exhibition in April. It'll be all fun and games (read; controlled panic!) getting work done between now and the end of March making sure I am not too last minute in getting ready. I can't be very late or else my dear framer will disown me. I watch other artists plan and work in an organised manner, only, as much as I admire this, I am yet to emulate them! Nevertheless, I hope to share with you over the coming weeks the progression of some of the paintings that will feature in the exhibition in the Oriel Gallery at the Clotworthy Art Centre in Antrim. My current thinking is to start many of the works and let my eyes "rest" from the paintings for a day or two before going back to them where corrections to do become more obvious for me.
